About Treasure Valley Mockup Studio

Built From Real-World Experience

Treasure Valley Mockup Studio grew from decades of hands-on experience in manufacturing, sales, service, and small-business ownership—and from solving problems we encountered in our own businesses.

My professional career began in the fire truck and emergency-equipment industry, where I spent most of my working life. Over the years, my experience covered nearly every side of that business. I worked on fire trucks as a mechanic, sold fire apparatus for major manufacturers, owned and managed a fire apparatus manufacturing facility, and later owned a full-line sales and service dealership representing one of the world’s largest fire apparatus manufacturers.

During those years, I watched computerized manufacturing equipment transform the way products were designed and built. CNC machinery and other computer-controlled equipment fascinated me, and that interest continued after I retired from the fire apparatus business in 2015.

I began working with computerized manufacturing equipment myself, including CNC routers and milling machines, lasers, printers, and other production equipment. That eventually led to the creation of two businesses: Treasure Valley LaserCraft, specializing in personalized gifts and products, and Treasure Valley Sportswear, specializing in personalized apparel.

The Problem That Led to Mockup Studio

Selling personalized products creates a challenge that customers rarely see.

Before a customer orders a personalized shirt, hoodie, tumbler, cutting board, piece of glassware, or another product, they usually want to see what the finished item will look like.

That means creating mockups.

A single order or product line might involve multiple products, several blank colors, different logos or designs, different design sizes, and different placement locations. A business may need mockups for T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, polos, dress shirts, drinkware, cutting boards, glassware, and many other products.

Creating those mockups one at a time can consume an enormous amount of time. After creating them, they still have to be named, saved, organized by product and design, and prepared for websites, brochures, flyers, sales presentations, or other marketing materials.

We experienced that problem ourselves.

As business owners who actually needed to create and manage large numbers of product mockups, we saw an opportunity for something better: a straightforward tool that could eliminate much of the repetitive work while still giving the user control over how each finished mockup looks.

That need became Treasure Valley Mockup Studio.

Software Designed Around the Work

Treasure Valley Mockup Studio is being developed around a simple idea: software should make the work easier without requiring the user to become a graphic designer or software expert.

Instead of designing the product from a programmer’s point of view, we approached it from the perspective of the person who actually has to produce the mockups, show them to customers, organize them, and use them to sell products.

The goal is to make it easier to combine product images and customer artwork, position and size designs, create multiple product-and-design combinations, and produce professional-looking mockups without repeating the same work over and over again.

The broader idea behind Treasure Valley Mockup Studio is the same one that led to it in the first place: identify time-consuming problems we understand from real-world experience and create practical software that makes those jobs simpler.

We are building software for people who have work to get done.
